MilitaryCorruption.com takes very seriously our obligation to alert you to deserving books, especially those released by smaller publishing houses.

And now, on to the reviews...
"MURDER FROM WITHIN: LYNDON JOHNSON'S
PLOT AGAINST PRESIDENT KENNEDY "
By Fred T. Newcomb and Perry Adams
www.murderfromwithin.com or AuthorHouse.com
Where were you in 1974?
Nearly 40 years ago, the two authors above (now deceased), privately printed this book, which is incredible in how many details dug up then, have proven factual now.
One hundred copies were sent to the members of the U.S. Senate, in hopes that a real, comprehensive investigation of the Kennedy assassination would result. While Sen. Barry Goldwater (R-Arizona) openly praised the monumental work, it was soon forgotten. That is, until now.
Fred's son Tyler, daughter, Valerie Newcomb (Woods), and Perry's widow, Bonnie, got together with Author House and published this long-lost work of scholarship so that Americans today, in the 50th year since the murder in Dallas, can know President Lyndon B. Johnson was indeed a psychopathic criminal.
This "must read" book dates all the way back to 1969, when Newcomb and Perry did extensive and timely research and taped interviews for the manuscript. Their tireless efforts included personal visits to Dealy Plaza, accessing records, interviewing witnesses, and creating a historical work that is breathtaking in it's concept while being daring and fully documented.
We don't often give out a higher ranking than our top "four stars," but in the case of this key book, we gladly rate it the highest possible award - five stars.
"LBJ - MASTERMIND OF THE JFK ASSASSINATION"
By Phillip F. Nelson
It wasn't that long ago that we didn't know Skyhorse Publishing in New York even existed. We sure do now.
This publisher has such an impressive lineup of books that we are more than happy to bring another one to your attention.
MASTERMIND is almost 650 pages of painstaking investigative reporting and copious footnotes by the noted author, Phillip F. Nelson.
While this book, totally nailing LBJ as the brains behind the killing of President John F. Kennedy, came out four decades after the first book to do so - MURDER FROM WITHIN (reviewed above) - it provides enough documented proof, that if Johnson were alive today, he would undoubtedly be indicted for murder.
One reason alone for buying this book is the author's citing an AP photograph taken of the Kennedy motorcade at it passed the infamous Texas School Book Depository Building on Elm Street in Dallas.
Newcomb cites the pix shows then-vice-president Johnson ducking down below the back seat in his official vehicle (he was sitting next to Lady Bird and then-Texas Sen. Ralph Yarborough), in the moments before fatal shots rang out from the building above and the grassy knoll, to the side of President Kennedy's limo.
The only possible explanation was, Johnson had foreknowledge of the assassination "hit" and wanted to be sure he didn't get caught by a stray bullet in the crossfire. You might say old Lyndon was a bit "gun-shy."
We rate this book four stars.
"FATAL DIVE - SOLVING THE WORLD WAR II
MYSTERY OF THE USS GRUNION"
By Peter F. Stevens
The thousands of U.S. Navy personnel who read us every day will be fascinated by this stirring account of what really happened to the submarine Grunion in World War II.
On July 31, 1942, the sub, along with her seventy-man crew, vanished without a trace in the icy waters off Kiska in the Aleutian Islands.
Was the fate of this undersea craft forever to be confined and concealed by Davy Jone's Locker? What really happened?
It took more than 70 years for a team of investigators to locate the wreckage and shockingly come to the conclusion that the Grunion was sunk by one of her own torpedoes.
The author reconstructs, as best he can, the final moments of the doomed boat, as it breaks up under 300 feet of sea pressure in its fatal uncontrolled dive.
A special feature of this volume is a complete list with photos of each member of the crew. Once can only look at their faces and wonder what their last seconds of life were like before the submarine smashed into the ocean floor.
This book is rated four stars.
"OPERATION SNOW: HOW A SOVIET MOLE IN
FDR'S WHITE HOUSE TRIGGERED PEARL HARBOR"
By John Koster
Just when you think you've seen and read all the books that have been published on the subject of the Pearl Harbor attack, there comes a new one that knocks your socks off.
A Soviet agent at the highest levels of our government was able to influence the flow of events leading up to December 7, 1941, and at the same time, further the strategic interests of his masters in Moscow.
Meticulously researched, OPERATION SNOW will shock you by identifying the official who worked against his own country and furthered the Soviet Union's goal of keeping the Japanese from attacking their territory instead.
Author Kosner reveals the previously neglected (and untranslated) sources that expose the Soviet conspiracy, how Harry Dexter White got away with one of the most devastating acts of treason in American history, and how Japan and the United States were manipulated by Russian agents and propaganda.
If Operation Snow had failed, the Soviet Union might have collapsed under the combined might of Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan.
We rate this one, four stars.
"HITLER AND THE NAZI CULT OF FILM AND FAME"
By Michael Munn
Michael Munn, film historian and author of many books on World War II, including STARS AT WAR, scores again with this soon-to-be released volume on how the Nazis used the visual image to further their lies and deceit.
In WWII Germany, the cult of celebrity was the embodiment of Hitler's style of cultural governance.
Der Fuehrer's rise to power owed much to the creation of his own celebrity, and the country's greatest movie stars, whether they be actors, writers, or musicians, could be only two things.
If they were compliant, they were lauded and awarded status symbols from the regime. But if they resisted - or were simply Jewish - they became traitors and were murdered.
This book tells of one beautiful actress and singer, Renate Muller, who defied the Nazis and ended up a "suicide" after falling (or being pushed) out a hotel window in Berlin.
Three stars rating for this upcoming release.
"OMAR BRADLEY - GENERAL AT WAR"
By Jim DeFelice
This excellent book is the first in-depth biography of America's last five-star general.
Omar Bradley was known as the "G.I.'s General" because to them, he was a compassionate leader, not necessarily interested in needlessly spilling their blood or guts.
Using previously untapped documents and unpublished diaries and notes, this fascinating book reveals why Bradley, not George Patton, deserves most of the credit for America's victories in North Africa.
It shows how Bradley - first Patton's subordinate, then his superior - was one of Patton's strongest defenders, trying to cover up the infamous "slapping incident."
This book reveals how Gen. Dwight Eisenhower panicked - when Bradley didn't - during the early stages of the Battle of the Bulge, delaying an American counter-attack that could have saved thousands of lives.
Provocative, thorough, original, Jim DeFelice's latest book deserves a place on the shelf of every serious reader of World War II history.
We rate BRADLEY four stars.
"A SECRET LIFE - THE LIES AND SCANDALS
OF PRESIDENT GROVER CLEVELAND"
By Charles Lachman
It's taken more than a century for the truth to come to light, but this new book on former President Grover Cleveland rips the lid off the cover-up of his corruption and sexual excesses.
Back in the 1990's, reporters whispered about Bill Clinton fathering a Black son by a Little Rock prostitute. Well, it's 2013 now, and intrepid reporter Charles Lachman - he's a friend and former colleague of mine at the New York POST during the 80's - has put together a book you just can't put down.
Ex-California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger apparently wasn't the first high-profile office holder in America to father a child out of wedlock. Cleveland beat him to it by a hundred years. And Thomas Jefferson preceded Cleveland, he bonking his Black maid.
Grover Cleveland won two terms as President of the United States, and was generally treated by historians as a fine fellow, but it wasn't until now that his "secret life' has been exposed by one of the best writers in the business. Buy this book.
It gets four stars.
"HELLHOUND ON HIS TRAIL - THE STALKING OF
MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. AND THE WORLDWIDE
HUNT FOR HIS ASSASSIN"
By Hampton Sides
Many of our readers will recognize the name of Hampton Sides. He was the best-selling author of GHOST SOLDIERS, which not only was a very successful book, but was made into a television movie. Sides is one of the best writers and researchers in the business.
Now he's turned his analytical eye on the hunt for Martin Luther King's killer.
Was it James Earl Ray who did the deadly deed, or was he just another patsy? Was the Army Special Forces in Memphis and the U.S. government involved in the plot to kill charismatic leader King?
In this revealing book, we discover Ray was involved in the pornography industry, new in the late 1960's. He was a petty criminal and loser. Was that why the powers-that-be selected him to "take the fall" for the slaying?
Magnificent in scope, relentless in narrative drive, drawing on a wealth of previously unpublished material, HELLHOUND is a profound examination of the costs of hatred - and how history is often a matter of the petty bringing down the great.
Yes, this one is rated four stars.
