They are totally without shame.
The scandal-ridden V.A. has once again betrayed thousands of elderly, dying “blue water sailors,” according to hard-charging, retired Navy CDR John Wells. The surface-warfare officer is one of the top military defense attorneys in America.
A Vietnam veteran himself, Wells (chief legal counsel of MilitaryCorruption.com) has been waging a valiant fight to get just compensation and medical benefits for a group of war veterans who have been cruelly cast aside by the V.A. At the same time, the corrupt bosses, led by clueless Director Robert McDonald, have doled out millions of dollars in “bonuses” to fat cat bureaucrats who have consistently failed to do their job – serve the veterans.

“We’re going to fight this thing until we’re done, or dead!” vowed Wells. “We are used to being betrayed by the V.A.”
The valiant fighter for veterans rights is talking about how the Veterans Administration is living up to its unofficial motto: “DELAY AND DENY, UNTIL THEY ALL DIE.” Many Navy “blue water sailors,” suffering a myriad of cancers caused by Agent Orange Dioxin, are mostly in their 70’s and 80’s now, and don’t have that much longer to live.
THE “REVISION” DIDN’T CHANGE A THING
On Feb. 5, the Dept. of Veterans Affairs issued a revision of the manual defining what areas in and off shore Vietnam can be considered for the presumption of Agent Orange exposure. And this revision still contains an odious exclusion – the crews of ships that entered the major bays and harbors, such as Danang and Nha Trang.
This caused Wells, Military-Veterans Advocacy executive director, to write V.A. Deputy Director Sloan Gibson that his sailors had been “betrayed.” “Bulldog” Wells is a Nam vet himself, and served as a surface warfare officer. He didn’t become a four-star lawyer until he retired from the military years later.
Wells “called out” the V.A., labeling the revision “no change of their old rule at all. It merely restates it.”
HARD FACTS ARE IGNORED
In an impassioned and angry e-mail, Wells reminded Gibson “As I carefully demonstrated to you during our July meeting, the proven hydrological effects of the river discharge carried the contaminated waters far out to sea.
“We provided you with river studies showing that the Mekong River discharge plume would travel for hundreds of miles in just a few weeks, We also presented you with information confirming Agent Orange run-off into Danang harbor . . . those folks got a straight shot of it (the poison) in their drinking water.”
Attorney Wells cited the Australian Dept. of Veterans Affairs (and confirmed by the United States Institute of Medicine) have proven that, yet the V.A. bureaucrats refuse to accept the fact they were, and still are, wrong.”
Australia granted the presumption of exposure to their shipboard veterans back in 2003! Here we are, in 2016, and our sick and suffering sailors are still denied compensation and proper care. V.A. is running out the clock. They’re obviously waiting for those veterans to die.
