OUTRAGE OVER VA REFUSAL TO FIRE TWO TOP
© 2015 MilitaryCorruption.com
Is Veterans Administration Director Bob McDonald just tone deaf, or does he have a compelling reason to go easy on two allegedly corrupt female VAMC directors, recently caught raking in some $400,000 in a job transfer scam.
Disgraced former Philadelphia boss Diana Rubens scored nearly $300 grand for her transfer "expenses" moving from Maryland to Pennsylvania. Fellow hard-charger Kimberly Graves only sucked up in excess of $100,000 for going from Washington, D.C. to St. Paul, Minn.
VA confidential informants tell us that both "women" got a slap-on-the-wrist, one grade demotion, and transfer within the corrupt system because they could tell the media and FBI investigators a lot about how rotten things are at headquarters. That would embarrass the White House and likely cause the dismissal of the embattled McDonald.
The West Point ring-knocker was brought in less than two years ago after retired GEN Eric Shinseki was fired in the wake of earlier VA scandals and mismanagement.
LIKE "BANK ROBBERS GETTING OFF THE HOOK"
"Rubens and Graves clearly should have been fired," Rep. Jeff Miller, chairman of the House Veterans Affairs Committee says. " The fact that VA leaders have so far refused to do so, gives me no hope the department will do the right thing and take steps to recoup the more than $400,000 in taxpayer dollars both women fraudulently received.
"I call on the V.A. to recover the money on behalf of the veterans they are charged with serving. A refusal to do this is utterly inexplicable and downright indefensible."
Miller fired a shot across Director McDonald's nose when he said "If the VA is ever going to reform itself into an organization worthy of the veterans it is charged with serving, it cannot tolerate corruption within its ranks -yet that's exactly what the department did.
"VA's handling of this matter is akin to letting bank robbers off the hook with a mere slap-on-the-wrist, allowing them to keep the stolen money."
