There is no secret we think the odious, arrogant and obnoxious Gen. Gary North should have been fired a long time ago. There was the incident where he overruled his own investigating officer in Afghanistan and cruelly destroyed the careers of two Air Force light colonels who had a "run-in" with a punk from Blackwater.

Well-known as one of Gen. T. Michael Moseley's chief flunkies, North enjoys playing the "bully" whenever he can, which is often. He also - we are told - played a key role in the Maj. Jill Metzger "cover-up."

Many Air Force personnel who have written us since old "bullethead" and Air Force Secretary Michael Wynne were fired, tell us the shroud of silence over Metzger and her lucrative "disability" pension will stay slammed shut as long as North remains in power. For that reason alone, we urge Secretary of Defense Robert Gates to dump this general and order an investigation into him right now.

As long as North stays, he is in a position to intimidate and retaliate against anyone telling the truth in the Metzger scandal. That is intolerable, and as far as we are concerned, an obstruction of justice.

We urge all Air Force active duty, Guard, Reserve members and retired personnel to contact us at once with any "intel" on North that you feel might be of interest to us. From our mail and other communications, we know that Secretary Gates will undercut the morale boost he provided recently if he keeps people like North in place.
