CADET RICKY PATRICK HESTERWas West Point Cadet Ricky Patrick Hester properly read his rights when investigators interrogated him in his dorm room at the U.S. Military Academy?

Defense lawyer Patrick Mullen says no. He contends the "confession" authorities say they got from the 25 year-old Indiana native, was illegally obtained.

Asst. United States Attorney Lauren Schoer disputes that claim, and opposes any attempt to throw out statements she said Hester made implicating himself.

COULD GET UP TO 20 YEARS IN SLAMMER

Hester was one semester short of graduation in December 2013 when he was charged with sending and receiving computer images of young boys being sexually abused.

He has pleaded not guilty. If convicted, the alleged pervert faces up to 20 years in prison.

His trial is being held in U.S. District Court in White Plains, New York.
