WHISTLEBLOWERS RETALIATED AGAINST - TRUMP

The rot and corruption at the Veterans Administration got the brush-off by Hillary Clinton last week.
"It's been overblown," claimed the shrill harpie, in a campaign statement that left many political observers from both parties stunned by her tone-deaf stupidity. The candidate for the 2016 Democratic Presidential nomination looked like an idiot after lying about such an obvious and well-documented problem.
"I don't think it's as widespread as it's been made out to be," Hillary sniffed. Yeah, right.
The blowback was almost immediate. Clinton was told by her handlers that many veterans and their families vote, and she would only be harming her election chances further by following such a false narrative.
Donald Trump appears to be the overwhelming choice of America's sick and disabled veterans. The New York billionaire and GOP Presidential candidate cut through Clinton's specious claims with a buzz saw.
"I will fire incompetent V.A. officials," he vowed. "The V.A. is corrupt. I will not hesitate to get rid of those who have failed our veterans and wounded warriors."
INJUSTICES CONTINUE AT THE V.A.
Meanwhile, the current situation continues where Veterans Administration bureaucrats rarely get fired, but whistleblowers are routinely targeted and retaliated against.
An example is the food manager at the Philadelphia V.A. who exposed insect infestations in the kitchens. He got reassigned to clean the morgue, and his boss tried to fire him because he "stole" and ate expired sandwiches from the kitchen instead of throwing them out.
A disabled veteran working at the Baltimore V.A. wrote his Congress-person about his lost disability claim. Instead of help, he got fired.
A statement by the V.A. said "The department is working closely with the Special Counsel to correct problems, protect whistleblowers, and hold supervisors accountable."
So far, V.A. boss Robert McDonald has had only words of praise (see related stories box below) for recently resigned Under Secretary for Benefits Allison Hickey. The retired brigadier general and Air Force Academy graduate was caught last year giving her gal pal VAMC director in Philadelphia a whopping $288,000 for "travel expenses" of less than 100 miles.
If that was you, dear reader, how long do you think it would be before you were put behind bars?
