We don't like writing these kind of stories any more than members of the fleet enjoy reading them. But there seems to be an epidemic of Naval officers and enlisted members ogling child porn.

Fast on the heels of our latest story about former Senior Chief Billy Wayne Welsh being busted on similar charges, Lt. Cdr. John J. Hall is the latest pervert to throw away his freedom and military pension because of a twisted compulsion to view trash like little kids being raped by so-called "adults."

The 39 year-old career officer pled guilty in Norfolk (Va.) Federal Court and faces a maximum penalty of up to ten years in prison for his crime.

"GOOD-BYE PENSION, HELLO JAIL CELL"

Caught with nearly 300 illegal images on his home computer, Hall knows he is toast. Thus the hope for a "plea bargain." Welsh got half of his possible jail term shaved off, by saving the cost of a trial. Perhaps Hall can get out too, in five years time.

But when he does, his life will be in ruins.

The Navy sent him to a psychiatric hospital where it was adjudged he was sane enough to know what he'd done was terribly wrong.

NO JOB BETTER-PAYING THAN FLIPPING BURGERS

Whenever the officer gets out of the slammer, he'll have to register as a sex offender, and that means he won't find employment better than flipping burgers at McDonalds. And even then, he stands a good chance of being fired if they find out what he went to prison for.

Why don't the FBI crack down harder of the sources of this filth? Lock up the porn makers and distributors and throw away the key. Sadly, there will always be a market among tortured souls like Hall to view such violations of children - one of the cruelest crimes of all.

For every child porn video produced, there is a little boy or girl whose life has been destroyed for profit.
