Navy CDR Jose Luis Sanchez has cut a deal with government prosecutors, and that could be bad news for two Navy flag officers, sources tell MilitaryCorruption.com.

The 42 year-old former XO for Fleet Logistics Center at Yokosuka admitted to accepting bribes from Malaysian business mogul "Fat Leonard" Glenn Francis to make sure U.S. warships used his facilities at various Asian ports of call.

Overcharging the Navy for various services, such as food and fuel, finally caught up with the obese crook.

Sanchez, who faces up to 20 years in prison when he is sentenced in March, (but probably will get far less jail time, because of his cooperation with federal investigators in this case) admitted he took $100,000 in cash payoffs and enjoyed free romps with prostitutes in exchange for his steering Naval craft to ports where Fat Leonard's contracting firm could rip them off.

TOP-RANKERS COULD BE IMPLICATED

We're going to report here what many people in the Navy are saying in whispers. That is, if Vice Admiral Ted Branch and Rear Admiral Bruce Lawless were aware of the fraud going on, they could face court-martial as the most senior members of the bribery ring.

No proof has been offered so far, that they were in collusion with other members of the Fat Leonard ring, but if the trail does lead to them, it will be very hard for the Pentagon to give these flag officers a slap-on-the-wrist and quiet retirement out the door.

One officer who won't be making a deal - at least right now - is CDR Michael Misiewicz. He has maintained his innocence throughout this investigation and shows no signs of being willing to testify as to the guilt of others who took goodies from "Fat Leonard"

Stay tuned, gang. If we get wind that another accused officer is willing to play ball with the feds, we'll waste no time letting you know.
