Well, he could have been caught on video banging a boy outside a New Orleans bar, but only that would have been worse that what has happened to a longtime, high-ranking Navy chaplain whose actions have brought disgrace upon him and his profession as a so-called “man of God.”
He must have been drunk and full of the Devil, for CAPT Thornton Lofton to have behaved so recklessly in a public place.
The French Quarter of one of America’s most “sinful”cities is a long ways from the chapel pews and phony piety that permeated this fraud. It’s anyone’s guess how long he has been such a hypocrite.
THE CHAPLAIN SINNED “BIG TIME”
Lofton was assigned to Marine Forces Reserves in that famous Louisiana metropolis before he was fired. It was USMC Lt. Gen. Rex McMillan who pulled the trigger on the horny and dishonorable chaplain. Our initial e-mail on this incident seemed favorable to Lofton, but after we publicaly called for more INTEL on the four-striper, we heard there is a Dr. Jekyll – Mr. Hyde side to this guy.
A Navy chaplain for 26 years, you have to wonder when Lofton went over to the dark side. How long has he been doing crap like this, and is there a long list of victims? We are still trying to ascertain if the female he was having sex with outside the Crown and Anchor Pub is military or civilian.
If she was forced in any way to get it on with the padre, and she’s a lower-ranking officer or enlisted person, that could mean the “lover-boy” chaplain has a lot more to worry about than just putting in for retirement. He might just find himself behind bars for a long stretch before this incident is over.
