SECOND RETIRED FLAG OFFICER REVEALS

First came the bombshell news that retired Army LT GEN Craig Franklin said in a signed affidavit (see Related Stories Box below) that no less than the secretary of the Air Force had threatened him to not dare overturn an Air Force NCO's court-martial conviction. If he did, the convening authority was told, he would face forced retirement and/or firing and loss of his military career.
Secretary Deborah Lee James had not been in office even a week before she issued the "do it, or else" threat to the flag officer. A shaken Franklin decided to put in his papers just three days after being hammered by the Democrat hack and "politically-correct" Obama stooge.
The then three-star general wrote, in the sworn affidavit provided attorneys for USAF non-com Rodney Boyce, that top Pentagon officials pressured him NOT to overturn the airman's "rape" and "sex assault" conviction in his role as convening authority, despite the fact Franklin had the authority to derail the court's dogmatic decision to send Boyce to prison.
The convicted man contended any sexual relations he had with his so-called female "victim" had been "consensual." The politically-correct military judge, super-aggressive Navy CAPT Bethany Payton-O'Brien, pushed hard to send yet another male service member to the Leavenworth D.B.

Do any of our well-educated and literate readers remember the Charles Dickens classic book TALE OF TWO CITIES, where a bloodthirsty Madame DeFarge sat beside the Paris guillotine, and as each man was led to the chopping block for execution, shrieked "OFF WITH HIS HEAD"? According to some of our sources, the fierce Payton-O'Brien is the most feared and despised female judge in the U.S. military.
Now, retired ADM Patrick J. Lorge discloses in an affidavit that immense political pressure had been brought to bear on him by top Navy brass hat, Vice-Admiral Nanette DeRenzi, who strongly urged him not to overturn the court-martial conviction of highly-decorated SEAL and Senior Chief Keith Barry.
"At the time, , the political climate was such that a decision to disapprove the findings, regardless of merit, would bring hate and discontent on the Navy from President Obama as well as New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand," the admiral stated.
Lorge, had he had more backbone, could have followed his conscience and reason by exercising his power to overturn what he sincerely felt was a miscarridge of justice. But he didn't. It's clear that he regrets that now.
Better-late-than-never Lorge, who said "I did not find the government proved the [she said - he said] "sex assault" allegations against Barry beyond a reasonable doubt," asked forgiveness "for my failure in leadership. Please right the wrong that I committed in this case. When doubt exists, allow a man who is innocent to remain that way and not be automatically packed off to prison."
