If you were hoping retired Gen. David Petraeus would come clean about being blackmailed into supporting the Obama Administration's phony cover story that an "anti-muslim video tape" incited the fatal attack in Libya that cost the lives of four Americans, including the first U.S. ambassador to be killed in the line of duty in more than 30 years, you've got to be bitterly disappointed.
The general with clay feet, hyped by an adoring media as some kind of "hero," although he wears no Silver Star, Purple Heart or Combat Infantryman's Badge among his massive collection of fruit salad, is anything but.
He's what the late COL David Hackworth used to call a "perfumed prince."
ALL THAT'S MISSING IS THE CLANGING SWORD
One of the greatest generals in American history, George Catlett Marshall, was well known for wearing but a couple rows of his highest decorations. He didn't need to put on a display of decorations that would make a swaggering South American dictator envious.
All that was missing from Petraeus's uniform was a big, dangling sword clanging on the floor as he breezed through the hallways of Congress, trailed by a retinue of obsequious aides and assistants.
Members of the mainstream media, most of whom never served a day in uniform, swooned in his presence. They used the word "hero" to describe him so much, it's lost it's meaning, back in the days when real heroism brought proper recognition.
In his testimony on Capital Hill this week, Petraeus was super careful to revise his remarks - this time he was under oath, and he has enough trouble already without being caught committing perjury - from when he was "on board" the Obama campaign express.
OBAMA DENIES KNOWING ABOUT AFFAIR
UNTIL AFTER THE ELECTION
Perish the thought that the President knew before election day that his FBI and Attorney General Eric Holder had concluded an investigation into the general's affair with his female biographer, Paula Broadwell, who also happens to be a light colonel in the Army Reserve.
We wonder if Petraeus ever busted a soldier for adultery in the 38 years since he graduated from West Point.
Blackmail? Oh, what a vile word! No way would the Dems pressure Petraeus to "get on the team," even if he was needed to parrot a damnable lie.
FAT HOLLY GETS "FAT" PAYCHECK - $187,500 A YEAR
Well, we have discovered something else, that hasn't gotten much ink from the media elites.
Don't feel too bad for the general's wife. We're sorry we did. She's hauling down a fat $187,500 a year paycheck for working on the newly-formed Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Her job is courtesy of the Obama Administration and has no Congressional oversight.
Now, we're sure that big bucks bonanza - David Petraeus gets $200,000 a year from his military retirement pension - wouldn't stop if the former general pulled the rug out from under the President as to the Benghazi cover-up. Is Holly worth all that loot when the average annual salary for a police officer in the United States is $43,000, a registered nurse $62,000, and even a new medical doctor, gets $105,000 a year?
Can you spell B-R-I-B-E, dear reader. We can.
