DIFFERENT SPANKS FOR DIFFERENT RANKS

If retired GEN David Petraeus was SGT Petraeus, and he'd done what the retired four-star admitted to earlier this year, he'd be on his way to jail by now.
But the man they call "the perfumed prince" rates special treatment. On Thursday, the now disgraced flag officer got a slap-on-the-wrist. A federal judge sentenced him to two years of probation and a $100,000 fine. To a big shot like the general, that's "chump change" indeed.
The troops call it "different spanks for different ranks," and they are right.
NOTEBOOKS CONTAINED AGENT IDENTITIES
The charges were very serious. One-time media darling and still Obama butt-boy, (remember the Benghazi cover-up?) Petraeus got off easy.
The eight notebooks he lent to his mistress, fellow West Point ring-knocker MAJ Paula Broadwell, author of a puff-piece book on the over-rated general, contained highly classified information, including names of covert officers, war strategy, etc.
Those notebooks were found in Broadwell's home when FBI agents raided the place. When the Feds questioned Petraeus about what he knew, he flat out lied and denied what he'd done. He also falsely swore that when he left the CIA in 2012, he did not have any classified material in his possession.
LIES AND MORE LIES
MilitaryCorruption.com exposed him for the habitual liar he is when he tried to hide his role in derailing CPT Will Swenson's Medal of Honor recommendation. The "perfumed prince" told a reporter from McClatchy Newspapers out in Afghanistan that he'd couldn't recall seeing or signing any documents (allegedly "lost" for two years), that prevented Swenson from being awarded the nation's highest decoration for valor.
But later on, a memo was discovered in which liar Petraeus tried to downgrade the medal to a Distinguished Service Cross. His signature was right there on that!
Swenson, never one to suffer fools (or generals) gladly, would never have been finally presented the MOH at the White House if desk-jockey Petraeus had his way.
For that deceit alone, the pompous general should have had his ass kicked, but good.
BUST HIM DOWN ONE STAR
Army regulations say that a military member can only retire in the last grade "satisfactorily" served in.
Petraeus was committing adultery with his playmate Paula back in Kabul while lower-ranking troops were fighting and dying in the boonies. Rank does has its "privileges."
If an NCO or other officer can lose a grade under the above-mentioned regulation, why hasn't the prince been stripped of one of his four stars? That loss would take a bit of a bite out of the general's monthly retirement check.
But don't hold your breath waiting for that to happen, folks. Petraeus knows enough about the real truth of what happened in Benghazi that BAM wouldn't ever allow him to receive any real punishment..
The retired general, a habitual liar, is a man without honor.
