It’s desperation time for lefty lawyer Eugene Fidell.  He and his admitted deserter client are trying hard to postpone the inevitable.  But their actions Monday at Fort Bragg will only buy Bowe Berghdal a couple more days of freedom before the MPs slap the handcuffs on America’s most notorious soldier.

Bergdahl’s attorney asked military judge, COL Jeffrey Nance, to limit the maximum sentence to “no punishment or confinement” to offset perceptions he -an active duty military judge – was being influenced by commander-in-chief President Donald Trump.

The outspoken Trump had labeled Bergdahl “a no-good traitor” at rallies on the campaign trail, but Nance ruled that he was a civilian then, not yet commander-in-chief.  The judge told the court he was “absolutely certain,” despite anything Trump has said, he could still render a fair and objective verdict.

Bergdahl spent five years with the Taliban and claims that most of that time he was kept in a steel cage, with very little room to turn his body.  He would prefer to get a dishonorable discharge, forfeit his health care and benefits, and go his way. But the families of soldiers who were killed and wounded searching for the now-admitted deserter will have none of that.

DESERVES A LONG TIME BEHIND BARS

The staff here at MilitaryCorruption.com, gratified that our wall-to-wall coverage of the case was far superior to the mainstream media, figure the so-called “sergeant” will receive ten to twenty years behind bars.  Anything less, and Bowe could be in for big bucks.  There’s always a book and/or movie deal.  Hollywood could make this Sad Sack figure “sympathetic.”

The 31 year-old Idaho soldier hasn’t helped his cause any with some wild remarks to a British reporter for the Sunday TIMES Magazine.  Bergdahl made no new friends here in the USA when he said the Taliban were “more honest” with him than the U,S. Army.

FEELING SORRY FOR HIMSELF

“I’m the guy whose gonna get his throat cut,” Bergdahl whined. “Here (in America) it could be the person I pass in the hall who’s going to sign the papers that send me away for life. . . We might as well go back to kangaroo courts and lynch mobs.”

Spoken like the true dumb-ass son of a couple of aging hippies.

Does anyone wonder why the pro-Democrat mainstream media hasn’t touched this story?  Obama needs to be asked why he traded five killer commanders for a dirt-bag deserter, even if that punk converted to Islam while “held” by the Taliban in Afghanistan.
