If Bowe Bergdahl’s lawyers were hoping that Barack Hussein Obama would pardon their client before he left office, it must have been a sobering wake-up call when it didn’t happen. Especially after the former commander-in-chief threw some crumbs to the LGBT community by letting “Chelsea” Manning out of jail early.. All he/she did was commit treason.
Back when Obama staged the bizarre press conference in the White House Rose Garden with Bergdahl’s “aging hippie” parents, it looked like the dirt-bag GI who deserted his fellow soldiers in Afghanistan might not only score five years of back pay, but have it doubled by obtaining – of all things – “prisoner-of-war” status.
Check out the pix above of little Bowe and his much larger bunkhouse buddy, a nameless Taliban who looks here like he “knows” Bergdahl in a rather intimate way. Sodomy is normal for men in that part of the world. From the smile on the Taliban’s face, it appears the burly one had grown rather fond of his little charge.
We don’t know for sure what possessed Obama to make such an uneven trade for the onetime private (who was “promoted” several times during his years of “captivity,”) but if he simply wanted to garner brownie points from his “fellow” Muslims, by the time Hillary lost the election to Donald Trump, Obama was saying: “Bowe who?”
NO PAY – NO WAY, FOR DESERTER
Bergdahl is in a bad spot about now. He will surely be court-martialed and chances are good that he’ll be convicted of at least desertion in the face of the enemy. That should bust him back to private, forfeit his back pay, all benefits and allowances, and hopefully, put him behind bars for a good stretch.
However, we think the final decision will be influenced by “political-correctness.” Because President Donald J. Trump called him a “no-good traitor” during the 2016 campaign, the scrawny “soldier” just might avoid any incarceration whatsoever.
The mainstream media, in full battle mode against the new Republican in the White House, are bound to paint Bergdahl as a sympathetic figure. They will claim he was “confused” or suffers from “PTSD,” an insult to real combat soldiers who didn’t betray their buddies. It’s a hard pull for some of us who’ve walked in harm’s way, to see little Bowe wearing the coveted Combat Infantryman Badge on his dress uniform, when everyone knows that is unearned and undeserved.
The whole Bergdahl affair has been a black stain on the Army and the sooner we get this mess behind us, the better. No way should Bowe collect one dime in pay for deserting to the enemy. He won’t go hungry. You can be sure some left-wing Hollywood movie producer or greedy book publisher will dangle a big bucks contract in front of Bergdahl’s nose.
