We’ve been online 17 years and yet, nothing has resulted in such an angry response – even the Navy’s “sea witch,” Horrible Holly Graf – as what happened earlier today.
Bowe Bergdahl, an admitted deserter who committed misbehavior before the enemy, got a slap-on-the-wrist from a military judge and walked free out of the courtroom. No prison time whatsoever! Under UCMJ regulations, he faced up to life behind bars.
Now, thanks to idiot COL Jeffery Nance, the sad sack “sergeant” will become a millionaire and “good order and discipline” in our armed forces will cease to exist. How long do you think it will take for some other soldier – preferably a minority – to decide he doesn’t want to serve in combat anymore and just “walk away” if he feels like it? A very bad precedent was set today, and it will do us terrible damage in the future.
“That judge slapped us all across the face,” fumed an elderly retired Army sergeant major from Ohio. “It’s almost unbelievable, Bergdahl got no hard time for what he did. This makes me glad I’m old and sick and may die soon. I did two years in ‘Nam and was wounded in Tet [1968 Communist Offensive]. Was that all for nothing?”
LAUGHING ALL THE WAY TO THE BANK
So what if Obama’s little pal – the former President traded five Taliban killers for Bergdahl’s worthless hide – got a dishonorable discharge. What’s a paltry $10,000 fine to someone in line to score some $300,000 in “back pay” for the time he spent with the Taliban?
Sure, the man his lawyers said lived in a “fantasyland,” claimed he tried to escape many times and was constantly kept in a metal cage. He sure didn’t look too unhappy in the authenticated photo we ran (see related stories below) of him and a Taliban buddy that didn’t appear in the “mainstream” media. Don’t you know why? Those Democrat Party cheerleaders should all go to Obama now and ask him what he thinks of his boy getting off so easy But they won’t.
Well now, dear readers, get ready for another body blow. Military.com reports Bowe’s left-wing lawyer, Eugene Fidell, plans to push for his client to receive the sacred Prisoner of War Medal. Will that result in Bergdahl’s cash bonanza being doubled to $600,000, per regulation?
If they succeed in that, the now demoted-to-private dirt bag will also be eligible for V.A. benefits. Maybe he can claim PTSD and scam a lucrative tax-free monthly pension for life like so many alleged “victims” of “sexual harassment” do these days. This is not to demean the women who have actually been harmed. We mean the fraudsters who exist in large numbers but are never openly spoken about due to fears of one being deemed “politically-incorrect”.
REMEMBERING THOSE WHO SUFFER
We apologize to all those who have written us in anger and frustration. There isn’t time enough to respond to each of you personally. So, let us just tell you, we are outraged too, and promise you we will not back down in exposing those who have shamed the uniform they wear.
Our thoughts and tears are with the wives and loved ones of those who were killed and wounded looking for a deserter. Utter a prayer for Shannon Allen tonight. Her husband, Army M/SGT Mark Allen was shot in the head on a search mission for deserter Bergdahl. He suffers from traumatic brain injury.
Mark cannot even speak the words: “I love you” to his devoted wife and little daughter. He is confined to a wheelchair for life. His head tilts to one side and sometimes he unavoidably drools on himself. He will never be a millionaire or become rich from movie and book deals. This NCO will never forget what a travesty of justice occurred today, thanks to a liberal military judge who would be well advised to put in his retirement papers soon. He is not welcome in an Army that still contains people who treasure the words: “duty, honor, country.”
