Call it instinct, a gut feeling, whatever. But we’ve had the opinion all along that Marine Col. Dan Wilson isn’t the “monster” the JAG has painted him out to be.
The burly 36-year senior officer has had an impeccable career up until now. He’s made his share of enemies along the way, both in and out of the Corps, so it is not impossible to imagine that someone is seizing the present politically-correct atmosphere of “convict them all, guilty or innocent” to destroy his life and all he has ever worked for.
Hopefully, we’ll get both sides of the story at his Camp Lejeune court-martial. Wilson’s civilian attorney, Phillip Stackhouse, says his client is not guilty and will fight the charges – rape, sexual abuse of a child, etc. – all the way.
A RUSH TO JUDGEMENT HERE?
We couldn’t help but notice how the prosecution has used the civilian and lapdog media to paint an ugly portrait of the 55 year-old Mason, Wash. native. Selective leaks and an orchestrated smear campaign has caused some Marines to rush to judgement in this case. “Hang him!” they say.
If Wilson actually did the things he’s accused of, the editors of MilitaryCorruption.comwould be first to line up to pull the noose around his neck, but it just doesn’t seem so pat that we would join the witch hunt without first carefully studying the charges and facts in this matter.
Ask yourself who brought the charges and what would be an ulterior motive? It’s almost a sure thing you destroy anyone who is hit with such inflammatory and indecent accusations as this. Are there any “witnesses” to the digital “rape,” and is the alleged “striking” the buttocks of a girl under age 16 in all actuality a harmless “pat on the butt?”
There is nothing in Wilson’s background to indicate he would suddenly morph into a disgusting pervert, so what really happened? Let’s hope and pray justice will prevail.
