GETS 12 YEARS IN LEAVENWORTH
Here we go again! The Air Force wins the prize for the most corruption and crime, in fact, more than the Army, Navy and Marine Corps combined! We never fail to be amazed at all the sleaze - and worse is coming from Eglin AFB in the next few days - that is generated by the folks in blue. Could it be poor leadership, or is it something else? Whatever causes this, it's time for some of the fat cats and brass hats at the Pentagon to get cracking on finding out why, when it comes to public relations, the USAF gets the biggest black eye.
The latest embarrassment is news of at least one officer and a high-ranking enlisted man at Warren AFB in Wyoming plus others, we are told up to 30, involved in downloading child pornography from their personal computers.
Already, Lt. Harold G. Henderson has been convicted at court martial and sentenced to 12 years at Leavenworth. His punishment includes 10 years of probation upon his release from custody and payment of a $500 fine. That will be the the least of his problems, however, as word of his offense will reach the prison population, if it hasn't already. We have many readers out at Ft. Leavenworth. Precautions had better be taken to make sure Henderson is not "targeted" for attack by some of his fellow inmates.
At least one senior NCO, Chief Master Sgt. William M. Elliott, faces possession of child porn charges. His case is being handled in the federal court system, indicating shared jurisdictions. Henderson, who was convicted of downloading the forbidden filth at his off-base quarters, along with Senior Airman Denton M. Stevens and Airman 1st Class Patrick M. Young are USAF cases, while Elliott, Airman 1st Class Wesley Snellgrove and Airman Drew F. Moravec face prosecution from the Feds.
News of the child porn ring has rocked the 4200-member population of the Cheyenne, Wyo. Air Force installation and civilians and military alike are asking how many more arrests will be made before the investigation is over?
[EDITOR'S NOTE: To our thousands
of daily Air Force readers - be watching this space for coverage of one
of the most sordid and disgusting sex cases in USAF history, starting
in a matter of days. The location is Eglin AFB Florida, and the
crimes that will be outlined at court-martial there will sicken even the
most hardened service members. The local PAO is hoping to avoid
national publicity, but since MilitaryCorruption.com
is closely monitored by the networks and mainstream media, chances of
keeping this damaging tale quiet are next to none.]
