The other shoe has finally dropped. Or should we say combat-boot?
Bowe Bergdahl will be charged with desertion, the Army announced. Despite enormous political pressure from the White House, in the final analysis and after numerous delays, the Pentagon didn’t blink. Hussein did.
There are two counts against the dirt-bag sergeant. Under Article 85 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, he is facing a dishonorable discharge, bust in rank back to private, forfeiture of all pay and allowances, and prison time. Under Article 99, Bergdahl could get confinement for life.
At a hastily-assembled Fort Bragg press conference, COL Daniel King made no direct mention of the six American GI’s who were killed searching for Bergdahl. Expect the Obama-suck mainstream media to play that down as well.
NO “HONOR” OR “DISTINCTION”
What will be hard to ignore, even for leftist MSNBC is the infamous remark by Obama top advisor Susan Rice when she said Bergdahl “served with honor and distinction.” Don’t look for the talking heads to show criticism of that lie.
You can be sure the case will proceed to an Article 32 hearing, which is akin to a civilian grand jury proceeding. If the decision is made to go on to court-martial, will Obama step-in, and pardon Bergdahl and excuse his actions, saying the poor boy has suffered enough?
The President of the United States hasn’t said word one about the American GI’s who died trying to find the little creep What about their loved ones? Shouldn’t we honor their memory?
It would be the ultimate slap-in-the-face for Obama to interfere and let Bergdahl off easy just so BAM wouldn’t look so bad trading five Taliban killers for a punk deserter.
