It was like a slap in the face, and enough of an insult to make an old infantryman cry.

There was deserter Bowe Bergdahl, the paper-promoted sergeant E-5, all spiffed up in his Army dress blue uniform wearing the sacred Combat Infantry Badge above five service ribbons on his scrawny chest.

The 29 year-old “soldier” entered “no plea” at his arraignment Tuesday at Fort Bragg on charges of desertion and misbehavior before the enemy. He could, but probably won’t, get five years in the slammer for deserting his unit in Afghanistan in June 2009. But the “misbehavior before the enemy” rap, that’s something his lawyers weren’t expecting.

That could get this sad sack life in prison. But, as we’ve said all along, Bowe’s buddy in the White House won’t allow the dirt bag he traded for five Taliban killers, to do any hard time. You can be sure immense pressure is being applied on the Pentagon by the Obama White House to “go easy” on one of the most infamous G.I.s in U.S. Army history.

REMEMBER THE SIX SOLDERS WHO DIED

Bergdahl skipped out on his unit, allegedly to inform superiors at a larger base 20 miles away, that there were “leadership problems” that needed to be corrected. The then-PFC even says he fancied himself a “Jason Bourne” like character, as he slipped over the wire, leaving his rifle behind.

Sources tell MilitaryCorruption.com that six American soldiers paid with their lives while searching for the weirdo private. We extend our heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the families of those brave men, this bleak Christmas 2015.

We can assume these honorable infantrymen were also in dress blues with the C.I.B. pinned above their ribbons, which included the Purple Heart, when their bodies were returned to the United States.

May we never forget their sacrifice, or the Americans who have been killed and are yet to die because BAM let five Taliban commanders get away to fight another day. GEN George Patton must be spinning in his grave.
