“Don’t let this one slip off your radar screen,” said a source who knows a thing or two about the Navy’s elite Seal Team Six. “Melgar was killed for a reason. It wasn’t just rough-housing that went wrong. He was silenced.”
What happened in American Embassy housing at Bamako, Mali on June 4th of this year – the New York TIMES broke the story last week – is a U.S. Army Green Beret, S/SGT Logan Melgar of Lubbock, Tex., was slain at the hands of two Navy SEALS. We want to know why he died. Did he stumble upon something illegal – did that knowledge cost him his life?
The first “official story” was the 34 year-old NCO died as the result of a “head-lock” during horseplay with the SEALS. That has now been discarded after autopsy results showed Melgar died as a result of “homicide.” MilitaryCorruption.com has learned that one of the SEAL suspects (“persons of interest” to the NCIS), Petty Officer Anthony DeDolph, is a former professional mixed martial arts fighter (brawler). Using a “headlock” or choke hold to make an opponent submit is second-nature to him. It also can be used to kill.

Both SEALS – we’re working on getting the name of the other one – were quickly flown out of the West African nation after the incident and have been placed on administrative duty. No murder charges have been filed – yet. However, informed sources tell us, the case is “most certainly” headed to court-martial.
There are bad feelings simmering below the surface between the tightly-knit Green Beret community and famed Seal Team SIX. That small band of Navy “special warfare operators” were the fighters that took out Osama Bin Laden in 2011. Members of Army Special Forces have been heard muttering under their breath that there better not be a “cover-up” by the brass.
A graduate of Texas Tech University, the well-liked Green Beret had completed four months of his six month tour of duty in Mali at the time of his death. He joined the Army in 2012 and had been assigned to the 3rd Special Forces Group at Fort Bragg, N.C.
